Whole Foods Market® Want Your Used Shoes for Back to School
Tax-Free Back to School weekend kicks off August followed shortly by the first day of school. As families get children ready for school, Shoeman Water Projects and Whole Foods Market - Town & Country are asking for donations of your used, outgrown shoes during August. This month long shoe drive will allow the shoes the opportunity to find a second home and provide water to those who thirst. Whole Foods Market – Town & Country has partnered up with Shoeman Water Projects to collect shoes, a St. Louis non-profit that turns shoes into water. Any type of shoes will be accepted, provided they do not have holes in them. 2013 shoe donations resulted in repaired water pumps and the installation of water purification systems in Haiti, and in Kenya, the construction of a dam and initial steps to a well-drilling operation.
