The Chesterfield Alliance for Positive Youth (CAPY) is sponsoring its annual “Back to School Pool Party” on Friday, August 21 from 8:15 pm-10:30 pm at the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center! This event is open to all Chesterfield area middle school students (6th, 7th and 8th grade). Parents are also welcome to stay and enjoy watching the kids have fun. Pizza, soda, water and cookies are provided at no charge.
The Back to School Party will also have games, including the use of distortion goggles and the Wheel of Misfortune. These games, with the assistance of high school mentors, will help kids learn about the negative effects of substance abuse. The event is also meant to showcase to the kids that a good time may be had without the use of mood altering substances. Educational literature concerning substance abuse issues will also be available for parents. The mission of the Chesterfield Alliance for Positive Youth (CAPY) is to promote healthy, safe and substance-free choices for the youth of Chesterfield.
The Rockwood Drug Free Coalition, The Alliance for Healthy Communities, Preferred Family Healthcare, The City of Chesterfield, and the Chesterfield Police Department also provide assistance for this event. For more information, please contact Officer Kim Beckmann at kbeckmann@chesterfield.mo.us.
